I LOVE Dr. Seuss! When I was little, I wanted to be him when I grew up.
When my second daughter was three years old, she could almost recite The Cat in the Hat word for word. She was adorable. We decided it would be her 3rd birthday party theme.
As it turned out, pink, red, and aqua was an awesome party color scheme.
But you don’t have to wait for a birthday party to celebrate with the good doctor!
March 2 is Dr. Seuss’ birthday and it’s a great time to honor him and celebrate the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. I’ve got a post with some of the best ways to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday!
I wanted to share this quick and festive dish you can serve at a party or theme night with your family.
Cat in the Hat Pizza
Simple enough, you can start with the canned pizza crust.
I don’t normally dig the refrigerated dough, but it works in a pinch, and it’s perfect for this recipe since you actually want a rectangular shape!
Then, roll out the dough. Carefully pinch and pull out the corners at the bottom to make a brim for the Cat’s hat.
I placed my finger at the place where I wanted the corner to be and stretched the dough outward from there.
If you aren’t accustomed to making your own pizza, you want the sauce spread evenly and not too thick. Enough to cover the dough, but not puddles.
At the brim of the hat, I brushed on a little olive oil and sprinkled with garlic powder to make it more of a garlic bread crust…almost like a built in breadsticks.
