I LOVE a good oven sandwich. These buttery, cheese, sliders are absolutely delicious and so simple to make for a crowd. They’re the perfect meal for snacking in front of the television for the big game or a good ol’ family movie night. When I was putting together the menu for the How the Grinch Stole Christmas Family Movie Night, I knew that these garlicky sliders would be the perfect main dish as “Roast Beast Sliders”.
I put a little spin on your usual oven-baked ham and cheese sliders by making these with roast beef (for the theme)!
Roast Beef Slider Oven Sandwiches Recipe
aka Roast Beast Sliders
Ingredients:
- 1 Family-sized package of deli sliced roast beef.
- 1 (8 oz) package of sliced provolone cheese
- 1 package of dinner rolls (Hawaiian or Sarah Lee are both great)
- 1 stick of butter (1/2C)
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon of dried onion flakes
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of poppy seeds
Preparation
Before you begin assembling the sandwiches, melt the stick of butter in a small bowl (I do about 30 seconds in the microwave, but whatever you like). Mix in the Worcestershire, onion flakes, garlic powder and poppy seeds.
Begin assembling the sandwiches by slicing the entire package of rolls in half horizontally to create one giant sandwich! Place the bottom half in a baking dish.
Layer in the roast beef and provolone cheese.
Top with the upper halves of the rolls.
Next, slather on that melted butter mixture all over the tops of those bad boys.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15-20 minutes. Watch that the tops don’t burn. The rolls will be just heated through and the cheese will be all melty like this.
I love to use this little spatula thingy to serve them because it’s just the right size and it’s sturdy enough to cut through the roast beast…I mean roast beef…so I don’t have to use a knife and a spatula. I don’t remember where I got it, but you can find a similar one on Amazon. It’s called a Brownie Server. (affiliate link)
These are a great side dish for Game Day, but like I said, they’re an essential part of the menu for my How the Grinch Stole Christmas Family Movie Night feast. Serve it along side Who-hash for a truly scrumptious, Seussical Menu!

The scrumptious side dish pictured with the Roast Beast Sliders here is Who Hash.
Who-Hash is a wild and crazy looking dish that’s actually quite delicious and hearty enough to be a stand-alone entree. Plus, it’s simple enough for a weeknight dinner.
I’d eat it on Wacky Wednesday or any day of the week!
